7/1/26 "Just Checking In" ~ From (Originated by) Charles L. Robinson Jr.
Hello, My ECP Family and whoever else finds this message. I hope everyone has been doing good since we talked a few days ago. Everything has been good with me. Make sure you reach out to me if there is something you would like to talk about. As always, I want to talk to you all about something that God (through his Spirit, the Spirit of God) has put on my heart for our edification and his (God's) Glory. Really quick, I want you to think about this: "Give Your Desires A Chance".
When I say "Give Your Desires A Chance", I mean take time and examine your desires (test your desires) hoping they (your desires) can be fulfilled and in doing so your representation of the faith is solid. I say this because sometimes you may have some personal desires that you may question or totally doubt, you don't pursue fulfilling those specific desires because you question or totally doubt those specific desires, and without examining them (those specific desires) you really don't give yourself a chance to potentially experience those desires. After examination, the question or doubt that you may have within yourself (or an outside influence attempting to create you questioning or doubting - experienced by the Apostle Paul illustrated later) may not even be an issue to question or doubt due to talking time and doing an examination regarding the issue. For example: Without getting into details, recently there has been a desire on my heart. One of the first things that popped up in my mind was "If I do it, will it be selfish or self-centered?" It could be perceived as selfish or self-centered but after examining the issue (with the word of God), it's not selfish or self-centered. Therefore, as we speak, I'm fulfilling that specific desire (appropriately.) Now, if I'm aware of a circumstance whereby it (my desire) is perceived as selfish or self-centered (assumed to be tainting the faith), the way to protect from not becoming a stumbling block is to share- biblically educate my examination (just as the Apostle Paul did in his specific circumstance illustrated below.)
The below supporting scripture is a commonly known scripture. Oftentimes the below scripture is perceived fiercely as "Are you currently living up to a standard? or You have to live up to a standard". Without a doubt, everything you (we) do whether you think about it or not, presents a standard and you (we) should want to maintain certain standards. However, the Spirit of God wanted me to relay this to you in a different manner: Free yourself by giving your desires a chance through examination and this freedom may give you a chance to experience somethings you really want to experience (appropriately.) Remember, this freedom doesn't run from standards because a standard will inevitably present itself in everything done. Give your desires a chance, the Apostle Paul did! Paul gave his desires a chance and fulfilled his desires while his desires where being questioned by the Church at Corinth. The blessing is that his accusers (the Church at Corinth) eventually gave themselves a chance and start fulfilling the same desires they previously accused. God Speed! (Charles L.
