Welcome ECP Family to your 3/16/23 weekly devotion (Weeklies) originated by Charles L. Robinson Jr. of Edifying Christian Publications:

You pursuing your personal interest(s) can be unselfish. Unselfish, from a non-biblical point of view, can be defined as: you being concerned with your personal interests, your personal gain(s), and personal advantage(s) without excluding other's interest(s.) The Holy Bible standpoint regarding you being unselfish is defined as: you doing to others as you would like for them to do unto you. These two perspectives (non-biblical and biblical definitions) are compatible regarding you being concerned with your personal interest(s) without excluding other's interest(s) which is the opposite of selfish meaning not being interested in other's interest(s) and being only interested in your personal interest(s.)

Men brought a paralyzed man in a bed to Jesus to be delivered. The men did not exclude the interest of the paralyzed man was illustrated by the men's willingness to take the paralyzed man to Jesus (to the extent of climbing up the roof top with the paralyzed man in a bed and entering into the midst of Jesus from the roof top.) In a reciprocal manner, the paralyzed man did not exclude the interest of the men being illustrated by the paralyzed man not refuting, not rebuking, and not resisting from being taken to Jesus (even to the extent of through the roof top.) The paralyzed man had a interest of physical deliverance. Reciprocity illustrated that the men had personal interest, personal gain, and personal advantage besides witnessing the paralyzed man being healed. What was the men's personal interest, personal gain, and personal advantage? The answer is, not experiencing personal nakedness (spiritually), not experiencing personal void, and not experiencing personal unsettlement. How do we know this regarding no desire to experience personal nakedness (spiritually), void, and unsettlement? The men's extraordinary confidence (with aggression) to get the paralyzed man to Jesus illustrated a condition of the men that if their extraordinary confident pursuit was not pursued then their would be a sense of personal void, unsettle, and nakedness (spiritually) i.e. - the inner sensitivity of followers of Christ.

An alternative exposition of this principle: "If" the men did not take the paralyzed man to Jesus to be healed knowing they should have taken the paralyzed man to Jesus, the men would have sensed inner sensitivity (the doctrine of conviction.) The men would have to wait for another opportunity to take the paralyzed man to Jesus because they did not originally take the paralyzed man when they should have, therefore, now sensing inner void, inner nakedness (spiritually), and inner unsettlement until they eventually get the paralyzed man to Jesus. Simply put, the men's personal interest was to do the correct thing and the correct thing (besides the paralyzed man being healed and Jesus's interest in healing the man) was for the men to not experience personal nakedness (spiritually), not to experience personal void, and not to experience personal unsettlement. People today in 2023, relevantly understand this principle of desiring to do the correct thing in order to evade inner nakedness (spiritually), inner void, and inner unsettlement.

In conclusion ECP Family, in confidence, pursue your personal interests without excluding others interests. In confidence, the men pursued their personal interest of not experiencing personal nakedness, not experiencing personal void, and not experiencing personal unsettlement while not excluding the interest of the paralyzed man being healed. When I say confidence ECP Family, have extreme confidence ECP Family liken to a pursuit of climbing up a roof top to enter in to take your personal interest(s). The paralyzed man was on a pursuit, entered in, and took his personal interest (healing), in the name of Jesus.

Supporting scriptures for the above content:

"And, behold, men brought into a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the house top, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus" Luke 5:18-19

"But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house" Luke 5:24

"And as ye would that men should do unto you, do ye also to them likewise" Luke 6:31

Additional scriptures that illustrate the principle of pursuing in unselfish-confidence towards your personal interests while not excluding other's interest(s):

"And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Fathers business?" Luke 2:49

"Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and give his life a ransom for many" Matthew 20:28

The above two scriptures (Luke 2:49; Matthew 20:28) illustrates Jesus emptied as a man - in the lens of humanity, fully God and man, who had (has) personal interests of satisfying his heavenly Father (not desiring to be naked, void, and unsettled) while not excluding the welfare of mankind through preparation of ministry and actual ministry.

I pray that this word brings understanding and faith to my ECP Family to pursue personal interests binding unselfish-godly pursuits being misunderstood and falsely claimed as selfish-ungodly pursuits and loose God's given initiated and pursued pursuits, in the name of Jesus.
