Today’s devotion in an encouragement in the theme of winning has different definitions. Some circumstances will deem that one winning is based on one achieving the reward established and offered by the circumstance. Whereas, winning could not be based on achieving the reward established and offered by the given circumstance. For example, Satan established a reward and considered Jesus not winning unless Jesus achieved the reward Satan established and offered. Jesus did not accept Satan’s reward but was Jesus still winning? Yes, Jesus was still winning was defined as “not being influenced by Satan” when Satan deemed Jesus winning if “ Jesus was influenced by him-Satan”. Even through Satan’s pressuring-squeezing, his (Satan’s) reward was not wanted. Maybe your winning is defined as “not being influenced by a certain circumstance” when the one’s who established the reward of winning in the circumstance has a different definition of winning. Maybe your winning is defined as “ enduring-finishing the good work you were given the responsibility to do” when the one’s who established the reward of winning has different definitions of winning. Whatever your circumstance is, know that winning has different definitions, know the definition specifically applicable to you, and keep winning! You and your families have a beautiful day.
P.S.- It’s important to keep in mind that the Holy Spirit intentionally led Jesus into this circumstance to see if he would be easily influenced which identifies disposition of growth in ministry. This teaches that growth in ministry encompasses the ability to endure particular circumstances such as not being easily influenced, tolerance for certain doctrine, etc.
“Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them: And said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered to him” Matthew 4:9-11
"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go unto perfection: not laying again the foundation of repentance of dead works, and of the faith toward God" Hebrews 6:1
