This devotion should be very relevant to most from the perspective of being that you are reading this means you are alive and you probably have relatives that are alive. Within your family, there is a great chance that there are differences to some degree and nature like most relatives. One example, the gospel of Jesus Christ has, can, and does create dissension between family members (due to issues on several different levels such as lifestyle differences, mentality differences, doctrinal differences, callings, spiritual gifts, favor, and the list goes on.)

If this has happened or is still happening, it is because you (the family member) chose and still choose for it to happen (the dissension.) God knew that some relatives would allow it to happen and God wrote that it would happen. Watch this: Everyone has disappointed Jesus in some manner at some time in their life. Well, it's written that Judas disappointed Jesus and he hung himself because he (Judas) disappointed Jesus, are you going to hang yourself because you have disappointed Jesus? Probably Not, I Hope Not. Why? Because you choose not too BUT you choose dissension with relatives (DISCLAIMER: DO NOT HANG YOURSELF.) I think you get the point, the bible is read and oftentimes people choose to do with what the bible says based on what's convenient for them and not for what God desires.

I encourage you to remember that God is a God of judgement and every deed and word spoken will have to be accounted for by God including interrelationships with relatives. How relatives treat and think of each other is part of God's judgement towards each family member. Some family members will win and some family members will not win (it's written some relatives will continue to choose not to win this spiritual battle.) I personally choose for all relatives (within all families) to win this spiritual battle but ultimately victory includes all relatives involved. God desires to get as many wins as he can - Win Relatives Win.

"I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed! Do you think I came to bring peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother- in -law against daughter- in- law and daughter -in -law against mother- in -law" Luke 12:49-53
