"Remain open-minded" Author Charles L. Robinson Jr.

Charles L Robinson Jr.

This week's devotion is purposed to saturate hearts and minds on his and her's prerequisite of being open-minded. These are inspired words for a disciplined focus on one's self-awareness regarding their contemplations before core discourse in their conclusions.

Specifically for the believer (and the hope for all), awareness of God's uniqueness is commonplace for initial contemplations (prerequisites) before hopefully-correctly "figuring out" core disclosures within issues of life. In other words, one should be mindful of God's uniqueness first and foremost before determining conclusions within issues of life. Simultaneously, somewhat perplex-blurred yet truthful, substance within God's uniqueness oftentimes resides within the illogical. What does this mean? It means to truly know and accept God's uniqueness is to know and accept God's that truths can be perceived as "illogical" but actually "logical" which demand one to be open-minded. Therefore, it's a must to remain open minded dealing with God. This does not mean that God will always use illogical means (or always use logical means) to accomplish his will (purposes) through one's relevant circumstances in life. However, it does mean that God's omniscience contains numerous-somewhat indistinguishing means to accomplish his purposes which equates to his uniqueness that specifically believers (and the hope for all) remain open-minded to.

For example, if a person is at a two-way crossroad and he or she has to select only one road for safe travel, which road would he or she select? The road that has been known for arrows to flare or the road that historically has had no arrows flare? Logically, the first contemplation would be to take the road that historically has had no arrows flaring (for the sake of safety.) However, that does not mean the road that has been known for arrows to flare to not be the means (the road) that God desires to accomplish his purpose while keeping one safe through his or her travels. This is not a declaration of God's answer to which road to travel rather than it is a declaration to be mindful to "always keep an open mind (not a closed mind) to God's uniqueness that sometimes equates to perceived 'illogical'". In other words, the road with the arrows known to historically flare may not be the God purposed route (in a given circumstance) but one thing is for sure, the road with the arrows known to historically flare should be a prerequisite thought because it could be God's purposed route for stirring one's faith, helping one to remain close to God, or accomplish other God fulfilled purposes residing in the illogical which demands open mindedness.

Lastly, for the sake of declaring this devotion within the confinements of biblical soundness and not human philosophy and not perceived inflation, let's quickly look at the lives of Amram and Moses. Amram could have chosen another route for Moses's safe travel rather than the Nile River. Who can honestly say she didn't have the option to run away with Moses or use other hidden means (such as use another traveler leaving the area) to accomplish Moses from being locally killed. However, she chose to put her baby Moses in the Nile River (his route) which happened to be the exact same river that babies were to be killed hoping that his arrival would accomplish safety not being subject to unknowns and uncontrollables factored in her decision. It worked, it was illogical, it was faith, and it could not have happened without open mindedness. It was literally God illogical means purposed to protect and begin the raising of a leader to progress the movement of delivering a nation. A nation that can reflect on numerous intricacies consisting of their deliverance with one major factor starting with a woman's open-mindedness to the "illogical".

You and your families have a wonderful week and remember to share this devotion with others to encourage them to remain open-minded.
