Hello, ECP Family and whoever else reads this devotion. This week there has been a few issues on my mind to discuss and I believe the issue discussed this week enlightens obedience to God by lightening obedience to God without compromising obedience to God by the grace of God.
Obedience is an essential ingredient within a healthy personal relationship with God (through Christ Jesus) that's oftentimes encumbered due to the potence within leeches (leeches exampled as change, fear, challenge, discomfort, etc. that attempt to suck out inner obedience within.) Grace presents giving and receiving that produces personal likings as the likings are favorably accepted by grace. For example, personal liking of giving or receiving leniency rather other alternatives; personal likings of giving or receiving forgiveness through inflicting habitual wrong doings; personal liking of safety surrounding perpetual dangers; and personal liking of giving or receiving rewards under unsound factors. Leniency, forgiveness, safety, rewards, etc. are unquestionable personal likes (unquestionable personal delights) that infiltrate personal acceptance accompanying understanding that likes are predicated on provided by undeserved favor of God. So, knowing things such as leniency, forgiveness, safety, rewards, etc. can honestly be undeserved yet can still be given or received really creates unquestionable likings. How does obedience relate to this? Although obedience is not commonly viewed as likeable (due to it's connotation) in comparison to leniency, forgiveness, safety, rewards, etc. , obedience should be viewed as likeable as leniency, forgiveness, safety, rewards, etc. based on all (obedience, leniency, forgiveness, safety, rewards, etc.) are given and received undeservedly by God. How much does one think of obedience as something that is given or received? Is obedience more commonly thought of in the concept of doing what God wants? Both are correct, however, the latter (doing what God wants) is the manifestation of obedience that oftentimes creates the encumber of obedience while the former (obedience being something that's given or received by God -grace) is a root (not the only root) of obedience that helps one see the origin and continued essence of obedience. Therefore, it's essential to not think about what God wants without remembering about how God gifts you with the ability to do what he (God) wants. Acknowledging that obedience to God starts and continues due to one's inability to obey within his or her's own ability greatly weakens the potence of change, fear, challenge, and discomfort that comes with one thinking he or she has to possess the ability within his or her own merit-ability to overcome the potence of change, fear, challenge, and discomfort that leeches-attaches to obedience. This greatly lightens the weight of obedience without compromising obedience being that obedience is given and received by the grace of God and not of one's own merit-ability.
In the Apostle Paul's commonly viewed most doctrinal exposition (The Book of Romans), obedience rooted from the grace of God is illustrated -lightened (by grace) yet not compromised though the outworking of personal discipleship in Christ as personally being a living sacrifice unto God. Yes, change to other patterns, change to another's (Christ's) example, challenged to think anew, fear of being examined, and discomforts that come with thoughts of being bad-evil not possessing desired positive-moral qualities are all leeches that suck out the preservation of obedience when in essence one is given-gifted the ability to change, think anew, be confident in being examined, and comfortable in being enough-adequate which are not things one can accomplish by his or her own merit-ability ( i.e. - one is gifted-given the ability to conform, transform, renew the mind, be proven, be good, be acceptable, and be complete.) Being that one can't do it (obedience) on his or her own merit-ability, should greatly help create lightened acceptance of obedience just as one unquestionably-lightly accepts leniency, forgiveness, safety, rewards, etc. Why? Because all are deemed as graces of God. You see, God doesn't demand something so essential from you (something so essential as obedience) without genuinely equipping you to give it to him (to give obedience to God.) Remember, obedience is often lighter than often thought of (it's by grace.)
I believe for you and your families to have a wonderful week and share this devotion with others to enlighten-encourage them regarding obedience being lighter than often thought of. God Bless!
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, BY THE MERCIES OF GOD, that ye present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And not be conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" Romans 12:1-2
