I want to talk to you from the depths of my heart and tell you "Don't Forget You". These words are focused for specific believers that God puts and keeps in challenging divine assignments (circumstances) but applicable to all believers. Keep in mind that the less challenging divine assignments can be called by God and the less challenging assignments can be called by self (meaning some take upon themselves to intentionally evade challenging divine assignments for self-comforts, non-confrontations, etc.) which selfishly excludes God and selfishly excludes bringing understanding of God's perspective to circumstances that lack God's perspective (the poor in the gospel.)
For those who God puts and keeps in divine assignments dealing with circles-environments whereby the gospel has not been presented, keep in mind there will be a measure of resistance due to some (not all) responses such as: 1) Some will feel the need to "get you back" because of what you said or say about the gospel or your doings that reflect the gospel. Oftentimes, this response is rooted from non-acceptance of what you say and do and also from their self-condemnation triggered from what you said or say or what you done or do (it's not you condemning them, it's them being self-condemned which can be the root of you experiencing mistreatment from them in the midst of your intent to simply bring Godly education to the circle-environment - doing THE GREAT COMMISSION.) Let's keep it real, some fight only because they don't like or agree with what they hear or see. Fighting rooted solely from personal un-comfort is a carnal fight, remember you FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, not a carnal fight.) 2) In the land of the poor in the gospel, some (not all) will attempt to do spiritual things in carnal means (approaches.) Example: Read or hear the words "war" and "fight" that comes from the bible and then automatically become a fight promoter and initiate the heavyweight fight of all times without taking time to look at background of text, without considering original intended inspirations, without considering today's relevance, and without current leading of the spirit of God (operating as a SONS OF GOD.) Love has been and always be relevant, but warring is not always relevant. Spiritual war is birthed from error (Satan's fall in the Pre-Adamite Age and continuing with Adams fall in the garden.) Spiritual war should only represent the intent to fulfill God's will. It's a means to help God's will be manifested and when done, it's not done carnally. A good fight defends the obedience of God which is illustrated in the gospel and has the intent to bring circumstances towards the obedience of God. A carnal fight does not care about the obedience of God and the fight is not intended to bring things to the obedience of God. For example, how is it a GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH if the fight is about getting back at someone who says or does something that is not liked and/or agreed to and retaliation is disobedience to God. Retaliation represents drawing away from the obedience of God and non-retaliation represents drawing towards the obedience of God. So yes, dealing with some (not all) poor in the gospel, they will call themselves fighting for God but the very thing their fighting against is a principle that is in obedience to God. 3) Some (not all) dealing with circle-environments that lack the gospel will resist through competition. Unfortunately, there is a "I have to out do you" mentality that distracts the principle of PROFIT WITHAL and this "I have to be perceived to be better than you" mentality that finds its way in the midst of unadulterated ministry can create hostility-resistance. So, all of these responses of non-acceptance, self-condemnation, approaching spiritual matters carnally, and competing (just a few of many) when dealing with some (not all) in circles-environments that lack the gospel creates resistance. Respectfully said, the believers that are called by God for challenging divine assignments but intentionally run away and remain in their exclusive circles (safe havens) away from confrontation, resistance, and hostility will experience this extremely less to none from the poor in the gospel.
After establishing the nature of dealing with some (not all) circles-environments that lack the gospel, the just of this message is to "Don't Forget You" in the midst of dealing specifically with challenging divine assignments that consist of resistance. Ask yourself two questions before saying or doing anything with the assignment: 1) Will what God has to say about the given circumstance create resistance from who it's specifically being said to or done to? 2) Have I already said or done what God says about the circumstance to the specific person or persons? If what God is telling you to say or do in the circumstance creates resistance and you have not already spoken or done what God has said regarding the circumstance, be used by God and bring God's perspective to the circumstance, then gird yourself for the potential various carnal responses you have to deal with (for the sake of God and bringing spiritual light to spiritual darkness.) If what God is telling you what to say or do in the circumstance creates resistance, and you have already spoken and done what God has called you to do in the circumstance, rid yourself from the resistance of the circumstance. It's not selfish because you have already dealt with it for God and you have given the circumstance the opportunity see the perspective of God. In other words, once you say it once or twice, there no need to say it or do it ten times. In the midst of it, you take yourself out of so much resistance and ultimately "Don't Forget You". By continuously pressing into the circumstance, you can create stagnation or backward results meaning you can become a stumbling block by unnecessarily dealing with the circumstance.
Humbly and respectfully said, some believers will never experience this part of ministry (serious resistance) due to their code of evading confrontation remaining in their exclusive circles of comfort (this does not devalue like-mindedness or one mind - same judgment, however, like-mindedness or one -mind or same judgement still can exist amongst assignments that do not represent like- mindedness or one mind - same judgment. i.e.- you can still deal with resistance and not sacrifice the genuine existence of unity in areas of life whereby genuine unity exists.) Look, the combination of the great commission and IN SEASON AND OUT OF SEASON equals resistance. As long as God is calling you to share the gospel and in the midst of sharing the gospel there will be some that will not want to hear what you have to say regarding the gospel there will be resistance.
Lastly, for those who find themselves in divine assignments that always seems to consist of resistance, "Don't Forget You". Do what you have to do for God, release yourself from the resistance of it, and pray that God gets his increase. Remember, God did not call you to it if you were not equipped to deal with it. It's actually a compliment from God regarding how he (God) has built you for it (the serious challenged need to be ministered to also.) For those who are in less challenging assignments from God (those that seem to just not consist of as much resistance. It's not that you are not necessarily built for the challenge, your audience needs attention from God also), "Don't Forget You". Keep planting and watering and hope that God gets his increase. For those who are in less challenging assignments not because God has not called you to the challenge but because you intentionally do not want to deal with the challenge, keep in mind your responsibility is to simply plant and water. The bible makes it very clear that there is no need to continuously deal with resistance after you have planted and watered. So, you can "Don't Forget You" but stand up for God and bring his (God's) perspective to where he (God) wants you to bring it knowing there will be resistance. Whatever your circumstance is, God has this thing divinely set up that he can be honored, people can be Godly educated irrelevant of responses, and you can "Don't Forget You" in the process (don't keep yourself in unnecessary resistance and hostility.) God bless you and your families, have a wonderful week, and please share this devotion with someone else for their encouragement. ~ From a man who experiences serious resistance and has not ran away from the resistance for the sake of standing up for God and bringing the gospel to the poor in the Gospel circles-environments and has learned to not forget himself in the process.
SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE:
I'm compelled to do something different with us this upcoming week. Rather than listing the supporting scriptures, take time and search in your Holy Bible and find the scriptures that support the words "in caps" within the devotion. Hint: Start in the New Testament, the biblical propositions are applicable to the New Testament believer. However, you can go to the Old Testament and look at scripture that points towards the fulfillment of the New Testament scriptures you discovered. The foreshadow of the fulfillment (Old Testament) and the actual applicable-relevant fulfilment (New Testament.) This creates a concise weekly study guide helping you to find appropriate scriptures without initially labeling the scriptures. Have fun, then have more fun, in your study!
