Greetings in the name of Jesus to my ECP family and whoever else reads this weekly devotion. My hope is that the following words both enlightens and quickens your minds, hearts, souls, and spirits.

There was an aura (identified as marvel and amazement) about Mary and Joseph's son Jesus that greatly helped sustain their relationship with Jesus. Discernment was a tool (used by God) to help Joseph and Mary greater understand their son Jesus in times when they did not understand him (such as Jesus as a child teaching in the temple referring to his Father's business.) In time, Mary and Joseph greater understood their son Jesus as discerning greatly help sustain them in the interim.

Remember, knowledge is a beautiful gift from God that is aided by discerning which is another beautiful gift from God. Discerning acts liken to a forerunner to understanding-knowledge-wisdom, therefore, I strongly encourage you to not disregard discerning. Acknowledge discerning as an aid to your greater understanding like Joseph and Mary. When you ask God to help you increase in knowledge (gnosis - understanding), ask God to increase your discerning-discernment-use of judgement (diakrisis - distinguishing, passing judgment) as a helper as you relentlessly believe you will receive greater wisdom (sophia- understanding either secular or divine.) You and your families have a beautiful week!

"And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them. And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: BUT HIS MOTHER KEPT ALL THESE SAYINGS IN HER HEART" Luke 2:50-51

"For one is given by the Spirit the word of WISDOM: to another the word of KNOWLEDGE by the same Spirit: to another FAITH by the same Spirit; to another the gift of

healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another DISCERNING of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues" 1 Corinthians 12:8-10

"If anyone lack WISDOM, let him ask GOD, THAT GIVETH TO ALL MEN LIBERALLY, and upbraideth not; IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO HIM. BUT LET HIM ASK IN FAITH, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed" James 1:5
