Hello, My ECP family and whoever else finds this message. I had a nice conversation today with a visiting family member in which our conversation presented different faith topics. When thinking about our conversation today through this "Just Checking In" conversation, there is one topic I would like to quickly talk about that's derived from my earlier conversation with my visiting family member which is - voices (specifically hearing and distinguishing the voice of God.)

It's important to hear the voice of God and understanding there are more voices than the voice of God (the one true God.) God desires to communicate with you in different ways and unfortunately there are other voices (besides God) that wants your worship. For Christians, to distinguish between voices to greater ensure God's voice (amongst other voices) is to confirm what you hear with the God-inspired word of God. It's imperative to seek understanding of the various nuances within rightly dividing the word of truth which allows you to discover compatibilities and contradictions to God (that's your safety net.) God does not contradict himself. God is faithful (trustworthy) and God is not a con artist-swindler-defrauder. Therefore, discovered God-compatibilities in the written word of God acknowledges compatibilities regarding the voice of God. This identifies the word of God being the final authority, and specifically for the Christian it's the fulfilled New Testament as the final authority.

So, this week our biblical thought is an encouragement to all to fearlessly listen for the voice of God. Remember, the God-inspired word of God is your weapon that acts as your safety net to do it. Again, to do what? To be open-minded and fearless to listen for God. Keep in mind, means to communicate with God outside the written word of God only can present tricky thoughts such as "this is too spooky" or "I'm afraid to error". The trick is that if you think that communicating with God outside of his written word only is "too spooky" or "error" you will hesitate or will not hear what he (God) is attempting to talk to you about - that's the trick (to keep you away from his voice - again, other voices compete against God's voice to gain your worship.) Again, the God-inspired word of God is your safety net, so be open-minded and fearless as a child- servant-worshipper of God (through Christ Jesus) to listen for his voice. You don't want to miss out on what he wants to tell you. You and your families have a wonderful upcoming week. Charles L. Robnson Jr. (Edifying Chrisitan Publications - Consolations LLC.)
