Hello, My ECP family (and whoever else finds this devotion), I hope you ponder on the following. This devotion can be another means within your repertoire of evaluating "help" within your personal relationships. It can be a means for you to 1) look for your help, 2) confirm it's your help, and/or 3) accept it's your help. I pray that it really blesses you and those within your relationships:
"It's common to focus on others being befitting to you in order for you to determine your appropriate help. However, the oxymoron is to also focus on how you are befitting to others in order for you to determine your appropriate help. Looking from this window, you have tremendous potential to see that others may have more in common with you than you realize and those commonalities help identify "your help" that can be seen amongst the fog that oftentimes presents difficulties to properly see".
When looking out the window in some circumstances, it was beyond fog, it was a dust storm for some to see their help from Jesus. Some were so focused on Jesus being befitting to them that they could not see that he (Jesus) was their help. However, through divine wisdom, Jesus brought to their attention they were more befitting to him (Jesus) than they realized identifying mutual commonalities representing "their help" - i.e. - Jesus brought to their attention that they (the some) and him (Jesus) both believed God casting out demons and not a chief demon casting out other demons at a time when they (the some) could not see this commonality. It put something on their mind! They were given another opportunity to see that the help that they had been waiting for years (their Lord and Messiah) was present for their genuine help (a core theme of the gospel of Luke.)
Looking out your window amongst your personal relationships, Who's in your fog? Who's in your dust storm? He, she, or they could be some of your greatest help. I encourage you focus on how you are befitting to him, her, or them and not only on how he, she, or they are befitting to you. It can help you see greater in the dust storms and fog.
I hope you and your families have a beautiful remaining of your week and if graces says so, I look forward to communicating with you again in a few days.
"Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man that had been mute spoke and the crowd was amazed. But some of them said, By Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons. Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven. Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: Any kingdom divided against itself shall fall. If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out?" Luke 11:14-19
